There’s something about Kansas fields on a warm summer night that just makes me want to stand there and breathe it all in — slowly, as the sun slides down over the horizon. There’s something about driving on dirt roads (and getting a little lost) with the windows down that makes me want to turn up the radio to a Kenny Chesney song (don’t tell my husband…). There’s something about spending time with a couple in love that makes me want to run home to the guy I love and give him a huge hug.
Melissa and Adam’s engagement session took me to all of those things. It was a refreshing break from the city, and my heart just about jumped for joy as I left their farm and watched the sun set and the fireflies light up the tall grass.
Melissa and Adam are such a beautiful couple. The farm that Adam recently bought is just as beautiful. And a Kansas summer night, with the sun setting over corn fields… also beautiful. Here are their photos…

With their cattle… :) I love the glowing yellow sun in these!

Who doesn’t love a wheat field in June? And who doesn’t love Melissa’s gorgeous smile?

These photos were taken around the barns at the farm!

And here’s their country road! :) So lovely!

Melissa and Adam, thanks so much for inviting me to your home, for cooking me a delicious steak dinner, and for asking me to capture these special memories for you! I am really excited to see you again in just a few weeks for your wedding day! :)
So I scrolled down and saw the 2nd one, and though, “That’s gonna’ be my favorite, I think.” And then I saw the 3rd one! Wow. And the 4th… These are amazing! Taken in my favorite kind of light. So beautiful!
Wow, Erica, some of my favorites EVER! Something about the country has my heart, too :-) How adorable, every post of yours makes me more excited!!!
These are some of my favorites of yours ever! I love the country and everything about these photos. I wish I could see them all!
