After a two-wedding weekend (which were both AMAZING…more on those to come!), I had the incredible opportunity to photograph the Father of the Year special event, sponsored by the Kansas City Royals and the National Center for Fathering.
The contest was made up of essay entries from children of all ages from across the Kansas City metro area. The essays were then read and judged (I spent an afternoon doing this also…SO incredible!), and narrowed down to 5 finalists. The finalists and their families got an inside sneak peek tour of the Royals stadium, and the winner was announced during the pre-game festivities at today’s game.
Here are a few highlights from the day, celebrating great father figures. As Father’s Day approaches, may we all recognize and pay tribute to the fathers in our lives.
