Kansas City Baby Photography: Tucker’s 9-Month Photos September 29, 2009

It was so much fun seeing Tucker and his parents again. :) I love this part of what I do — I get to see babies as they grow up and get big and develop cute little personalities over their first year. Doing a first year package is an awesome way for parents to capture their children over the first year, and an awesome way for me to get to hang out with cute babies multiple times throughout the year. :)

Tucker is all smiles, has the biggest blue eyes, and is just super adorable. Our session was fall themed, the weather was perfect, and we had a great time! Here are some of my favorites.

I love the fall leaves — this is a great time for fall photos, since the leaves are falling, but also still on the trees. :)

This one might be one of my favorites… I love his expression, the light, and the lines from the wooden slats!

Leawood Baby Portraits… all the way from Texas! September 7, 2009

This little sweet girl came all the way from Texas for her portrait session! It was a very rainy day, which took most of our session indoors, but she did a great job and we got some super cute shots to document her 8-month stage! Special thanks to her great aunt and uncle for the use of their home while this cutie and her parents were in town. :)

Her mom picked out such cute pink outfits for the shoot — I loved the variety!

She had the best time sitting in the wet grass (and getting a little bit dirty!). It made for some really cute photos with her joyful face!

Kansas City Baby Photography: Troy, 9 months old September 1, 2009

I can’t believe how fast babies grow up! I’m sure their parents feel the same way — one day they’re a little newborn baby, and before you know it, they’re headed off to college. :) The last time I saw little Troy, he was just 4 months old. Now he’s just turned 9 months old and I can’t believe how big he is! He was all smiles during our session, which was amazing.

I absolutely love taking photos of parents interacting with their kids. These are too cute.

One Month Old: Kherington’s Newborn Portraits April 25, 2009

Favorite baby photo ever… see above. :)

Little Kherington was so good during our photo shoot yesterday. She turns exactly one month old today, so her parents scheduled her newborn session just in time. :) We did the session in their home, which is always the most convenient for parents of new little ones and it’s just more cozy that way. :)

See where she gets her good looks from? Yep, her super cute parents. That baby has some good genes. :)

Kherington made the BEST faces for us when she was in her crib. These are some of my favorites — look at that cute face!

Some more photos with her parents… Lindsey and Al are such great parents. This is their first baby, and they are so sweet to her — they love their daughter!

This is a neat mirror that hangs in Kherington’s nursery:

My sister-in-law Leslie is a knitting wizard. Seriously. So when I explained to her that I wanted these warm and fuzzy little “cocoons” for babies to snuggle up in for newborn photos, she took on the challenge and made me a set without a pattern or anything. Anyway, Kherington was the first to try out the cocoons and I think she loved them. Perfect, peaceful sleep…

Troy’s 4-month portraits: Kansas City baby photography March 29, 2009

Hey there, blog readers! :) Thanks for not giving up on me last week with my one post all week long. I’m back to blogging and so excited to kick off another great week with photos of this little cutie! Troy just turned 4 months old, and he’s the newest little one to join our First Year package for babies, so you’ll be seeing him again at 8 months and 1 year! :)

I met Troy and his parents in their home this afternoon — the day after a huge springtime snowstorm. So, we stayed inside and still captured some great photos of Troy being his cute little self! 

Check out his big blue eyes!

I knew we were in for an easy portrait session when I was greeted right away with big smiles. Troy is such a happy boy!

And I love serious faces — babies often get so curious about the clicking noise my camera’s shutter makes, which gives us some intense staring-into-the-camera faces that I love.

Troy really wanted to get to his toes. He succeeded. :)

Here are those cute little toes, caught in the reflection on the coffee table:

I love watching moms and dads with their babies. These photos of them interacting are so sweet.

One of my favorites… the cool green wall is in their kitchen (proof that we can do a fun photo session absolutely anywhere!).

I can’t wait for our next two sessions to see how handsome Troy gets over the next several months. :)

6-month session: Carson October 1, 2008

Meet Carson. Full of wonder, curiosity and giggles, this little guy was such a joy to photograph. He’ll be turning 6 months old soon, and his parents wanted to capture this stage in his new little life. They recently relocated to Kansas City from Texas, and I am so excited that they contacted me to come meet their family and cute little Carson. Check out those clear blue eyes!

We took his 6 months photos in their home, which is always a great idea, so the little ones are in a safe and familiar environment and I can capture their expressions in a really natural way. Carson had some great facial expressions for us! :)

I just love what they’ve done in the nursery. And what a great little model Carson is — staring right into the camera at 6 months!  I’m sure it had nothing to do with the crazy noises we were making and the big camera making funny click-click-click sounds! :)

This one makes me smile so much — while Mom and Dad are focused on Carson, he’s looking into the camera like, “I know I’m really cute!” :) So precious:

In the backyard, Carson was just fascinated with the trees and leaves blowing around over his head. It’s that wonder that allows us to grab some great shots to showcase a baby’s natural curiosity of the world around them.

I just can’t get enough of little baby feet (and that funny face he’s making in the background!):
