How quickly art can lose its artfulness…when I started doing photography as a side business, I didn’t expect to leave behind the artistic, creative no-money-involved kind of photography. And I haven’t left it behind…but it’s slowly slipping to the background as more people are requesting my services for weddings, portraits, events, etc. It’s so exciting to see how quickly my business has taken off, but scary to think that I don’t have time for what drew me to the art form in the first place — the creative, raw, true-to-life, detailed photographs that can only be captured once. Sure, I try to achieve that in wedding photography, but there’s just nothing cooler than capturing the glorious creation that God has given us in a photograph.
So, to fix this problem, I’ll be participating in “52 Weeks of Awesomeness” with my fellow photographer and friend Chris. I’m excited to restore my commitment to artistic photography and have a great time for one whole year.
