The room has a blue-tinted glow. The comforter on the traditional four-post bed is dark gray and pillows are starched and stiff, with white cases. His big feet stick out from underneath the covers at the foot of the bed, and everytime he breathes in and out, his big belly makes the top of the bed rise and fall with every disturbing, snorting breath. The orange striped cat sleeps curled up on the chair next to him.
It might be a little bit strange. But that’s the scene I always imagined as a little girl when I sang the little nursery rhyme song, “It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring…went to bed and bumped his head and couldn’t get up in the morning!”
I have no idea where that vision came from, but I see it with my mind’s eye every time it pours outside.
The rain this past week has postponed almost all of the sessions scheduled during what was supposed to be a packed week of shooting. To my dear and faithful blog readers, hang in there — a flood of awesome photo shoots, from seniors to couples to weddings is coming your way soon. To my clients who have had their shoots rescheduled, thanks for being so great!
Another very important side note, while I have your attention:
If you’re planning a 2009 wedding, contact us soon to book your date! I will only be accepting a limited number of weddings next year, to provide the highest quality of service and attention to my clients. Our calendar is filling up quickly, but we do still have some great dates available in every season. Send me a message on the contact form at www.ericamay.com and we’ll set up a coffee date (or virtual coffee date, if you’re not in the area!) to talk about your special day.
Tonight, I’ll hopefully be found cuddling on the couch with my two favorite boys…my husband and my Petey puppy! :)
