Senior Photos on a Kansas Farm: Rachel November 30, 2008

rajohndeerehoriz

A true Kansas farm girl. Capturing senior photos of a true Kansas farm girl on her own Kansas farm was easy. With a capital “E” — especially because the location was perfect for unique and personal senior photos, and she’s not only beautiful, but a great little model. Oh, and she’s my cousin. :)

Rachel’s senior photos were awesome. I always love when I can leave a session with images that I’ve never captured before — it’s something I strive for with each shoot, and this one made it so easy to capture images that were unlike any other…

Enter Rachel’s two-time Grand Champion goat:

And you just can’t do senior photos on a farm without the one and only John Deere tractor.

There’s nothing quite like a white two-story farm house with a wrap-around porch. The photos with Rachel in front of the house will be really fun to have when she’s older, I think.

Senior photos are a great time for close-up head shots. I love close-ups, especially on gorgeous seniors!

Isn’t she just lovely? What a beautiful smile!

I would love a backdrop like this in Kansas City… this is the old milk barn on their property:

And a spot like this… you just can’t find it in the city. I LOVE these images in the middle of their pasture, on a hill just past the pond (it was COLD out there!).

Just a quick question. I read your blog through Rebecca Witte’s blog by the way… : )

I am looking into a digital SLR camera. I have a film version of the Canon Rebel from High School. I like it, but its so expensive to use now with the cost of developing….

So what do you think about canons versus nikon? Thought you might have a minute to help. Thanks!

Hi Erica, Just browsed some of your pictures and LOVED them! I’m Carrie, your cousin somehow. Dean and Bonnie are my parents. We were so honored to have won your photo package contest and hope to set it up during Christmas sometime when we are all home. I need to contact you. Love the pictures of Rachel! I can see both her parents in her so clearly! Hope to meet you soon.
